Alternative theories
I am in stitches looking at this post from boing boing about an alternative to the Intelligent Design theory - the theory of the Flying Spaghetti Monster! If enough people send this letter to the Kansas School board, well they may think we're all crazy and they won't listen to any of us. Then again it is a very good point.

I'm sure if you lived in Kansas, and wanted the Flying Spaghetti Monster Theory taught in schools, and many other people wanted it as well, it would happen. Very many local council officials are elected in the USA. If the people wanted that theory taught in their schools, they'd could elect one of their own to get it done. Democracy is about implementing the will of the people, not about implementing the will of the people if their views and desires are deemed suitable by some higher authority. There is no higher authority. The people rule the country.
George Bush DOESN'T live in Kansas. Maybe he should keep his nose out of their education system. Thank you Simon for making a great point for once...
I'm no expert in US law, but George Bush is the elected president of all 50 of the United States including Kansas, and I suspect he has some influence on what happens there. I doubt he'd waste time poking his nose into Kansas affairs if he knew nobody would take a blind bit of notice of him. For all I know he might merely be voicing his opinion as a citizen, and I have no problem with that. Free speech is quite popular in the USA.
Good well I'm exercising my right to free speech too, so what are you complaining about?
I'm exercising my right to free speech too. You set up a blog with a comments function, not me.
Yeah a comments section AND a delete button. Must use it more often...
