Sick as a Hellcat

There is a lot wrong with the NHS. Waiting list and drugs they won't approve because they cost "too much" and MRSA and a massive shortage of midwives and local hospitals being closed down, not to mention run-down buildings, disgusting food and unhelpful staff (not all of them I am sure but the last time I dropped by St Thomas's this was a big problem). There's always somebody worse off than yourself though. And it's America. Seems like Michael Moore's new film is long overdue.

It's a disgrace that the US doesn't have national health care, and that we spend a larger percentage of our GNP on health care than other First World countries and get worse results.

What does the French health care system do differently than the US and British systems that gives them much better results?
