My dad once said 'women aren't funny' to me as a child, when I pointed out female comedians (such as French & Saunders) he said, "they're only funny cos one of them is thin and the other one is fat" He denies saying this today, but I have been trying to prove him wrong ever since. Of course, now he acknowledges that he has produced a funny daughter, and thinks that I inherited my wit from him!
