Bush and co (I suspect mostly "co" cos Bush is probably too busy trying to figure out why he can't find his own a*se with both elbows...) have gone and "mis-placed" around about $9bn of the dosh from oil sales they had promised to "hold in trust" for the Iraqi people. The article is on the BBC, but doesn't seem to have caught the attention of any other national press so far. Now $9bn is a lot of money. Its the sort of money that could make a big difference to some of the issues being raised at Davos at the moment (Tony Blair has pledged £45m to fight malaria in Africa. They need £292m in total.). Cancelling debts from the world's 70 poorest countries would cost the UK £2bn. Of course the US has barely bothered to go to Davos, let alone offer any money or aid to those in need there.
I think a little bit more outrage about the lost $9bn might be appropriate...
